    The 3 parts of a fasting diet

    The first part is called pre fasting diet or something similar and usually it lasts 2 or 3 days. This part is intended to prepare your body for the fasting that will be ahead. In this particular phase, meat, bread, and any food that comes from an animal source will be eliminated. Nonetheless, you will still be able to eat fruits, vegetables, and food that is rich in fiber. You will complement the rest of your diet with water, juice, or a mixture of both. Be prepared to drink about three quarts a day.

    The second part of a fasting diet is the juice or water fasting and it lasts 4 or 5 days. This is definitely the hardest part and it requires a lot of commitment and willpower from you. In this phase you will ingest nothing but vegetable juice, and maybe some fruit juice and water. You won’t be taking any solid food and therefore it is extremely important that you arrange your life so that those days you have as little activity as possible. You are going to need extra sleep and lots of rest during those days, so ask for help if necessary for any chores you might need.

    The third and final part of the fasting diet is called re-introduction and this part takes as long as it is necessary for your body to readjust. This part is basically the reverse process because you start by eating fruits and vegetables, and then introduce grains, and finally fats.
